About the lessons
Who do you teach?
English lessons are available for all levels from beginner to advanced, for students aged 8 and up. Dutch lessons are for adults (18+) only.
How do I know my English level?
I recommend doing a placement test such as this one by Cambridge.
I want to improve my English for work. Should I book a Business English class?
No! Or maybe!
Business English often focuses on things like reports, proposals, formal emails, meetings, negotiations, presentations, and sometimes even industry-specific documents or tools like Excel and PowerPoint in English.
If your goal is mainly to feel more confident speaking at work, writing clear emails, or following everyday work conversations, General English lessons cover your needs.
What if I’m late to a lesson or have technical issues?
If you’re late or experiencing technical issues, the lesson will still be charged and will end at the scheduled time. Please try to join on time to get the most out of your session. If technical issues come up, I’ll do my best to accommodate where possible, depending on availability.
What platform do you use to teach?
All lessons take place online via video call via Cal.com, Google Meets or Teams.
Can I take lessons on my phone or tablet?
Yes, but I strongly recommend using a laptop or desktop for the best learning experience, especially if we’re working with documents, presentations, or interactive tools.
Do I need to buy anything for the lesson?
Unless specifically discussed (such as homework), you don’t need to prepare anything. All materials are provided by me. If a specific handbook or school book is requested for use during lessons, it may need to be purchased separately and would be at the student’s expense.
Booking and payment
How do I book a lesson?
You can book directly through my website. Just choose the time that works best for you, complete your payment, and you’ll receive confirmation by email.
Can I reschedule or cancel a lesson? How?
Yes, but please give at least 48 hours’ notice. Lessons cancelled later than that will be charged, as stated in my Terms of Service.
You can reschedule or cancel individual lessons by clicking the Reschedule/Cancel button in your confirmation e-mail. Currently it’s not possible to reschedule packaged lessons yourself. Please send me a message and I’ll gladly reschedule for you!
Do you offer in-person lessons?
No, I teach exclusively online. All lessons take place via video call. I don’t offer in-person lessons, and I cannot make exceptions.
Do you teach children under 8 years old (“my child is exceptionally smart”)?
No, I only teach children aged 8 and above as students need to be able to comfortably read texts and write.
Do you offer group lessons?
At the moment, I only offer one-on-one lessons. This way, I can give you my full attention.
